Breast Cancer Causes and risk factors
Aug 18th
Your breasts are made up of thousands of tiny glands, or lobules, which produce milk, as well as fat and connective tissue. The glandular tissue contains a higher concentration of breast cells than the fat or connective tissue, making it denser. Therefore, having dense breast tissue can increase your risk of developing breast cancer because there are more cells that can become cancerous.
Introduction part 2: Causes of cancer

Some types of cancer can run in families. For example, your risks of developing certain types of breast, or ovarian, cancer are higher if you have a close relative who developed the condition.
Diet and lifestyle are also important factors in the development of cancer. People who take regular exercise, eat a healthy, balanced diet, and are a healthy weight, have a lower risk of developing cancer. However, not taking exercise, eating a high fat diet, and being obese increases your chances of developing cancer.

Varicose veins
Jul 9th
Varicose veins develop when the small valves inside the veins stop working properly. In a healthy vein, blood flows smoothly to the heart, and is prevented from flowing backwards by a series of tiny valves, which open and close to let blood through. If these valves weaken or are damaged, the blood can flow backwards and can collect in the vein, eventually causing it to be varicose.

Once the cancer has reached the muscles it is able to spread to other parts of the body, usually through the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is a series of glands (or nodes) that are located throughout your body.
Treating high blood pressure
May 20th
If your blood pressure is moderately high, or your doctor feels that your risks of developing a cardiovascular disease in the next ten years is higher than one in five, you will be given medicines, as well as being advised to make changes to your lifestyle. If your blood pressure is severely high (180/110 mmHg or above) you will be referred to a specialist in the treatment of high blood pressure.

May 19th
A number of other medical conditions have also been linked to an increase chance in developing essential high blood pressure, such as diabetes and kidney disease. Having one high reading does not necessarily mean that you have high blood pressure. Your blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day, and if you feel anxious or stressed when you visit your doctor, it may lead to an increase in blood pressure.
